    Push Hands Partner Exercises

There are a number of push hands partner exercises in  Tai Chi, some are static some involve the use of foot work.

All exercises are designed to improve co-ordination and sensitivity. For example Four Directions Push Hands

The moving step exercises are designed to develop agility

These exercises can be done informally in class or  more seriously at competition. They are designed to test Tai Chi Skills.

Fixed step push hands involves trying to unbalance opponents without moving feet

Moving step push hands involves moving the opponent out of a target area or  throwing or sweeping the opponent to the ground
